See the information on the opportunity for your student to join Streams’ 4th Grade Chorus and provide a few more details about the experience. Chorus meets after school on Thursdays from 2:45-3:45 in the music room and will begin rehearsals on Thursday, September 26.
Students will learn how to improve their singing technique and vocal independence when singing in two or more parts. During the first semester, we work toward these goals by preparing for a combined choral concert with the choruses from Eisenhower and Baker. This concert will take place on Wednesday, January 8, at the high school theater. Each chorus rehearses on their own until January. Then, all three groups come together for two combined rehearsals right before the concert. During the second semester, the chorus works toward presenting a musical, with many songs, speaking parts, costumes, and set pieces, on Thursday, May 7. We are always looking for willing parent volunteers to help us with this endeavor!
If your student is interested, please indicate this on the after-school activities sign-up form (sent home the week of August 26th), and have your student return it to their homeroom teacher. Please note, this sign-up form also includes art club and intramurals. I look forward to working with the 4th Grade Chorus and preparing delightful music together! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at school by phone or email.
